About

Only 8% of investors are women and nearly 75% of all US VC funds have no women in management, creating both a significant financial gap and an unexplored opportunity.

WeAct Ventures was founded by Darya Henig Shaked with a focus on the unexplored financial opportunity of phenomenal women venture investors. WeAct Ventures invests in a portfolio of the best diverse led VC funds with the aim to achieve superior financial returns and expand opportunities that will define innovation in the next generation and beyond.

Since 2019 WeAct Ventures had led investments in Mary Meeker's $1.4B first fund: Bond Capital, In Theresia Gouw's Acrew Capital, in Addie Lerner's Avid Ventures and more.

In 2015, Darya founded WEAct, an international community of 4000+ women entrepreneurs worldwide. From over 1,000 applicants, Darya has selected and successfully supported 40 female-founded startups, including Realface (which was acquired by Apple in 2017), SafeDK (acquired by AppLovin) and Papaya Global which raised over $100M to date. In 1/2018 she inaugurated the first shared office space for women entrepreneurs in the Bay Area in Down Town Los Altos.

Darya previously served as the COO at Vital Capital Fund, a $350M private equity fund investing in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has extensive experience in public-private partnerships. Earlier in her career, she was recruited by Israel’s then Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, where she served on his team at the Prime Minister’s office and, separately, at Israel’s Ministry of Housing & Construction.

Darya served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces and spent additional 2 years in related activities under the Prime Minister's office.

A native of Israel, Ms. Shaked holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Bar Ilan University and completed her legal internship at the Central District Attorney’s Office. She had also completed executive programs at both Singularity University and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

She was named One of the Most Influential Israelis in Silicon Valley in 2017, based on her contributions as an investor and entrepreneur. https://www.israel21c.org/15-israelis-making-a-mark-on-silicon-valleys-tech-scene/ and in 2018 she was featured among the top 100 female venture capitalists in the book "Women who Venture" by Renata George.
